Partnership with Moltex Energy
It became clear to the EPD team in carrying out its MSR Feasibility Project that the Stable Salt Reactor from Moltex Energy had major advantages over other MSR designs due to its relative simplicity and low technology hurdles. Details of the Stable Salt Reactor can be found at www.moltexenergy.com.
EPD has as a result offered its support to Moltex Energy and is collaborating in the engineering design development of the reactor. We hope to develop ever closer relationships between the companies as this exciting technology progresses towards global deployment.

Feasibility of Developing a Pilot Scale Molten Salt Reactor in the UK
Energy Process Developments Ltd were awarded a grant by Innovate UK in July 2014 to undertake a year-long project to determine the feasibility of developing a pilot scale molten salt reactor in the UK. The study looked at six MSR configurations and proposed the immediate next steps towards design and build of a chosen demonstrator reactor project.
